School of Automation Engineering traces its roots to the Department of Brewing Engineering Automation, which was established in 2017 as one of the first batch of departments founded at Moutai Institute, and it was restructured in March 2025. 

      The school currently has 39 full-time faculty, including 18 teachers with senior professional titles, 21 young teachers under the age of 35, 17 "dual-qualified" teachers (teachers with both academic expertise and industry experience), and 11 teachers with doctoral degrees. Additionally, there are 9 teaching and administrative support staff. The school has 2 undergraduate majors, Automation and Packaging Engineering, and has a total of 798 undergraduate students on campus.

The School is equipped with 27 well-structured and fully functional laboratories, with total assets of teaching and research instruments exceeding 15 million yuan, and an average equipment value of 19,800 yuan per student. Key laboratories include the Sensor Laborary, Analog and Digital Electronics Laborary, Process Control Laboratory, Packaging Printing Laborary, and Packaging Material Performance Testing Laboratory. These facilities provide a solid foundation for both teaching and scientific research. In recent years, the school has secured more than 60 research projects, including 4 National Natural Science Foundation projects and over 10 provincial-and ministerial-level research projects. It has published more than 80 scientific papers, among which over 20 are indexed in SCI, EI, and other core databases. The school has also published 3 monographs and textbooks and obtained more than 60 authorized patents at home and abroad.

      Upholding Moutai Institute’s education feature of "Deep Integration of Industry and Education", the school has successively established internship and training bases in collaboration with relevant enterprises. These enterprises include the Packaging Workshop, Maintenance Support Workshop, and Digital & Information Management Department of Moutai Group, as well as Shenren Packaging & Printing Co., Ltd., Guizhou Xianjunlong Printing Co., Ltd., Yaxi Circular Economy Industrial Park, Guizhou Changzheng Electrical Equipment Co., Ltd., JING brand Maotai Town Liquor Co., Ltd., and Nantong Yusheng (Co., Ltd.). Through these partnerships, the school promotes industry-education integration, strengthens industry-education cooperation, and implements practical teaching.
