Recently, the results of the 2025 National Contemporary Undergraduate Mathematical Contest in Modeling (Higher Education Press Cup) were officially announced. A total of 12 teams from the Institute won awards, including 4 Provincial First Prizes, 3 Provincial Second Prizes, and 5 Provincial Third Prizes.
Sponsored by the China Society for Industrial and Applied Mathematics (CSIAM), the National Contemporary Undergraduate Mathematical Contest in Modeling (CUMCM) is currently the largest foundational academic competition among universities in China. The event aims to enhance students' ability to solve practical problems using mathematical methods, foster a spirit of innovation and teamwork, and promote the deep integration of mathematics teaching and practical application.

This year's competition attracted 1,837 universities (campuses), over 68,000 teams, and more than 200,000 students from countries including China, the United States, the United Kingdom, Canada, Finland, and Malaysia to compete on the same stage. Drawing on their solid mathematical foundations and rigorous analytical skills, our students calmly tackled complex competition problems and ultimately achieved outstanding results.
These awards fully demonstrate the remarkable effectiveness of the Institute's mathematical modeling teaching and practical education, as well as the students' spirit of courageously challenging themselves and pursuing excellence. The Institute will continue to deepen reforms in education and teaching, strengthen the improvement of students' practical and innovative abilities, and make greater contributions to cultivating more high-level talents with solid mathematical foundations and outstanding application capabilities, thereby serving the national innovation-driven development strategy.
