Moutai Institute Obtained the Right to Award Bachelor’s Degree in the Evaluation

From January 7 to 8, Moutai Institute went through the evaluation as a newly proposed Bachelor’s degree awarding unit and relative majors. Qi Si, the Deputy Director of the Department of Education and Secretary General of the Provincial Academic Degrees Committee, led the experts team of the Guizhou Provincial Academic Degrees Committee to Moutai Institute. Xiong Xing, leader of the expert team, presided over the evaluation, and Qi delivered a speech. 

President Feng Xiaolun made a report on Moutai Institute, and the heads of the five majors of Moutai Institute, including Liquor-making Engineering, Grape and Wine Engineering, Food Quality and Safety, Resource Recycling Science and Engineering, and Marketing, made a report on the professional construction. After listening to the report, the expert team carefully reviewed the relevant materials, and conducted field visits, randomly class visiting, spot checks, visits and informal discussions.

After fully understanding the school running situation and professional construction, the expert team agreed that Moutai Institute has been qualified as a Bachelor’s Degree Awarding Unit after nearly four years of construction and efforts, and all school running indicators have reached A-level. Therefore, the experts team all agreed that Moutai Institute should be added as a Bachelor’s Degree Awarding Unit in Guizhou Province. At the same time, the experts agreed that the indicators of the five majors of Moutai Institute, including Liquor-making Engineering, Grape and Wine Engineering, Food Quality and Safety, Resource Recycling Science and Engineering, and Marketing, have reached the excellent standard of the newly added Bachelor’s Degree Awarding Majors.

In order to further improve the quality and level of Moutai Institute, pass the undergraduate teaching qualification assessment of the Ministry of Education, and cultivate high-quality applied talents in liquor related fields, the expert team puts forward opinions and guiding suggestions from the aspects of talent training mode, teaching staff construction, teaching quality monitoring, professional connotation construction, etc.

In his speech, Qi pointed out that Moutai Institute should keep doing a good job in the top-level design of running a school during the “14th five year plan” period or even longer, cultivating talents with deep foundation, rich connotation and elegant taste, and educating personalized talents with big pattern by small and refined training mode so as to promote the implementation of school running strategy.

Qi stressed that Moutai Institute should accurately grasp the opportunity of the “14th five year plan” to promote the high-quality development of education. Besides, the Institute should make full use of the rich resources of Moutai Group to embrace the market and go to the economic and social frontier industries, and take a new application-oriented university as the internal driving force for its own development so as to truly build a unique and exquisite university with cultural influence and spiritual appeal.
