On June 27, the Private Education Research Institute of Soochow University (SU-PERI) released the 2025 Evaluation of High-Quality Development of Private Undergraduate Universities, covering 409 private undergraduate institutions as evaluation subjects. The evaluation results indicated that: Moutai Institute secures the 7th position in the 2025 National Overall Ranking of High-Quality Development of Private Undergraduate Universities; and it ranks the 1st in Guizhou Province in the 2025 Ranking of Top Private Undergraduate Universities by Province/Region.

The SU-PERI is the only research institution dedicated to private education established by a "Double First-Class" university in China, and the sole private education think tank listed in the "China Education Think Tank Evaluation (CETTE)". The SU-PERI assembled a research team with numerous domestic scholars, and conducted a comprehensive evaluation of the high-quality development of private undergraduate universities nationwide based on six first-level indicators: majors, courses, disciplines, research projects, papers, and patents. This evaluation thoroughly assesses the performance of universities in the two core functions of teaching and scientific research, which ultimately led to the development of the SU-PERI 2025 Evaluation of High-Quality Development of Private Undergraduate Universities.

According to the relevant SU-PERI reports, all data used for the evaluation are sourced from publicly available databases or documents released by national and social authoritative institutions, with all evaluation results being publicly verifiable. The report highlights that Moutai Institute, which ranks the 7th in the overall national ranking, has become a benchmark for regional development.
SHI Meng, a Commentator Expert, notes that some private universities have achieved development by adhering to standards, pursued breakthroughs through integration, broken through traditional constraints, and earned a good social reputation. Moutai Institute stands as a prime example of such universities.
